ESOL support is offered to all International Students on both Junior and Senior Campuses. The goal is for students who speak English as an additional language to be able to easily access the curriculum and communicate with their peers.
Features of ESOL at James Hargest College include:

- IELTS and other language proficiency exam preparation (optional)

Academic Support
It is paramount that our International Students feel supported and are continuously working towards their academic goals. At James Hargest College this involves:

- Regular interview with the Director of Int Students and ESOL teacher
- Close monitoring of progress
- Year 11-13 literacy class for International Students needing to gain Level 1 and University Literacy

- Extra teacher/teacher aide in many mainstream classes assisting International Students
